Welcome to Harrisonburg Assessment and Counseling, PLLC. We are Dr. Paul Pohto and Dr. Phil Schulte, licensed clinical psychologists in the state of Virginia. Together, we have extensive experience in providing counseling and psychological testing services for a variety of presenting concerns across the life-span. For counseling, we emphasize patient-centered care and strongly believe in the importance of establishing a collaborative relationship to help each person meet their goals. Although we have training in a variety of treatments, we ultimately believe that the best interventions are the ones that match you, as a person, and your specific needs. Psychological testing is currently being offered for children, adolescents, and adults. Evaluation methods vary depending on the specific concern requested and may include the following domains: intellectual functioning (IQ), adaptive functioning, psychoeducational / achievement, attention / executive functioning, personality, & psychiatric symptoms. We would be happy to discuss requests for other areas of evaluation (e.g., parental adoption). We are currently accepting new clients for individual counseling and psychological testing services. Appointments are available on weekends and evenings to accommodate busy schedules. At this point in time, we do not currently work directly with insurance companies but provide a superbill for reimbursement and offer payment plans for testing services.
